It gives us immense pleasure to invite you to the International Conference on Reproductive Health with Emphasis on Strategies for Infertility, Assisted Reproduction and Family Planning and the 27th Annual Meeting of the Indian Society for the Study of Reproduction and Fertility (ISSRF) scheduled to be held during 23rd – 25th January, 2017. It is our fond hope that a large number of delegates from all over the country as well as from abroad will enrich the scientific agenda with their participation.
The mandate of reproductive health is to advocate the need to accelerate development of methods that will permit societies to achieve their population goals and to improve reproductive health services and quality of life. The field of reproductive health is taking rapid strides and there is tremendous advancement in this area but still we are lacking behind in achieving our national goals. This is because of the fact that there is no coordination and exchange of knowledge among the various stake holders, i.e., Scientists, Obstetricians & Gynaecologists, Assisted Reproductive Specialists, Embryologists, Veterinarians, Social Scientists, Demographers, Policy Makers, etc. Therefore, first time, efforts have been made to bring major scientific societies, i.e., Indian Society for the Study of Reproduction and Fertility (ISSRF), the Federation of Obstetric and Gynaecological Societies of India (FOGSI), Indian Society for Assisted Reproduction (ISAR), Indian Fertility Society (IFS), Academy of Clinical Embryologists (ACE), Indian Menopause Society (IMS), Fertility Preservation Society (India) (IFPSI) etc. at one platform so that appropriate strategies can be framed on specific reproductive health issues. Efforts are also being made to bring together various Ministries and department of Government of India, which are focusing on development of education and research in healthcare.
The present international conference would review the advances made in the area of reproductive health, identify new challenges to be met and frame appropriate strategies for infertility, assisted reproduction and family planning so that the national goals can be achieved. The conference will bring together Basic Scientists, Obstetricians & Gynaecologists, Assisted Reproductive Specialists, Embryologists, Public Health Specialists, Veterinarians, Social Scientists, Demographers, Policy Makers from academic Institutions, Universities, Medical Colleges, ART Clinics, Infertility Centres, Maternity Home, various concerned Depts. of Govt. of India etc. and provide a platform to discuss and exchange valuable views in all spheres related to reproductive health. The topics to be discussed in the conference are, therefore, broad and relevant to different approaches to reproductive health.
The scientific programme will consist of orations, keynote addresses, plenary lectures, invited lectures, panel discussions, free communications and poster presentations. The conference will provide excellent opportunity to PhD/ MD/ DNB students to interact with the senior scientists, obstetricians & gynaecologists, ART specialists, public health personnel, faculty members besides presenting their findings and to discuss the relevance of these findings.
In addition to the scientific activity, the conference will also provide an opportunity to visit and look at the ancient cultural heritage of the city and enjoy the art, dances and cultural events during the conference. We hope the above activities would sweeten the scientific flavour of the conference and therefore participation in the above grand event would provide a memorable journey scientifically as well as culturally.
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we extend a warm and cordial invitation to you to participate in this unique international conference where, first time, six major societies of the country working in the area of reproductive health will be meeting at one platform.
